Mad Cool will possibly not go ahead this summer. The organisation confirms that the 5th anniversary edition will be postponed. The Spanish festival would have taken place from 8 to 11 July 2020.

The decision by Mad Cool comes as no surprise. After the organisation stated, a few days ago, that the chances of the festival happening were decreasing, it was only a matter of time. Now, it has become clear that the festival will not go ahead on the scheduled dates.

The organisation confirms that more information about the tickets will be available soon. Everyone who wishes will be able to get a refund. Alternatively, festivalgoers can choose to take their ticket with them to the next edition. Whether this will be in 2020 or maybe next year we will still have to wait to find out.

Mad Cool 2020 was due to take place between 8 and 11 July. Mumford & Sons, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Kings of Leon and The Killers were all set to headline the festival. Joining them were alt-J, Faith No More, Royal Blood and more to complete the full line-up.

Across Europe, several festivals have already been cancelled because of the coronavirus. It seems only a matter of time until more festivals will follow. While we may not be able to go to many festivals this summer, there are still shows to enjoy. Check out the Festival Concert series and our updated overview of artists’ live streams.

Mad Cool is an annual festival that takes place in Madrid, Spain. Only at its fifth edition, it has nonetheless quickly gained international recognition. Last year, it was headlined by The National, The Cure, and Bon Iver. Acts like Disclosure, Tash Sultana, American Authors, Greta Van Fleet, The 1975, and many more performed there as well.

Tasneem Najmudin is a 20 y/o civil engineering student in love with all things music and festivals (although you'll never find her at them because she's running from the main stage to the jazz stage to watch all of that and everything in between). Music has so much to offer but her top three artists at the moment are Disclosure, Sofi Tukker and Mall Grab.
