Graspop 2020 will officially not go ahead. The organisation confirms that they are cancelling the 25th edition. The Belgian metal meeting would have celebrated its anniversary with a four-day XXL event in June 2020.

Graspop explains that there was no other way. The organisation was in close contact with the local authorities. Now the Belgian government have decided to ban all events, there was no other option than to cancel this year’s festival.
The organisation writes that more information on tickets will follow. In 2021, the metal meeting will be back from 17 to 20 June.
Graspop 2020 was due to take place from 18 to 21 June. Iron Maiden, Faith No More, Judas Priest, Korn and Aerosmith would have headlined the event. Additionally, Deep Purple, Mercyful Fate, Deftones, Opeth and many more completed the line-up.

Graspop is a Belgian heavy metal festival held in Dessel every year since 1996. The festival draws a large number of international spectators, reaching over 100,000 in total. Graspop is one of the biggest heavy metal meetings in the world, so can attract a great line-up each year. Although the festival is usually three days long, they sometimes organise XXL editions. These special events have an extra day, especially for big headliners.
