In early June, Primavera Sound 2020 and NOS Primavera Sound 2020 are set to take place in Barcelona and Porto. However, as a result of the global outbreak of coronavirus, it is not sure these events can happen as planned.
In a statement, the Spanish organisation writes that they are busy with preparations for the indie festivals. At the same time, they are in close contact with local institutions and health authorities about coronavirus. If the events cannot take place in June, they will be looking to reschedule for a different time this year.
The impact of a postponement of Primavera Sound would be enormous. The Spanish festival is an important date in the tour schedules of many indie artists, and often the reason why artists start their European tours in early June. If the event is moved, this can have a serious impact on these tour schedules.
Primavera Sound 2020 has a stellar line-up with many beloved headliners. The Strokes, Lana Del Rey, The National, Massive Attack and many more top the bill this year.
