Metallica reveal first tour dates for 2020

The Four Horsemen will take the road again in 2020! Metallica just announced South American dates.

In March 2019, the website rockabellastour.com.br announced that Metallica would be back in Brazil in April 2020 for a stadium tour. It’s now confirmed; the band announced on social media that they would play on the continent as part of “the biggest tour in 2020”.

Hetfield, Ulrich, Trujillo and Hammett will tour in Chile, Argentina and Brazil from 15 to 27 April 2020 with young rockers Greta Van Fleet as special guests.

Does it mean that Metallica will come back to Europe for the WorldWired Tour in 2020 ? After performing some arena gigs this year, it would not be absurd to think about headline slots at major European festivals. However, only time will tell.

Metallica

Metallica were formed in 1981 by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. They met after Lars posted an ad searching for people to jam with. The American band also consists of Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo. Metallica is known as one of the “big four” bands of thrash metal, and one of the most influential bands in the metal genre. Fun fact: scenes from the movie Johnny Got His Gun were used in the videoclip of Metallica’s ‘One’. As a result, the movie’s popularity expanded, making it a cult antiwar movie. Additionally, the lyrics of the song follow the thoughts of the movie’s protagonist Johnny, a soldier who lost his sight, hearing and speech, and was paralyzed in the war.
