The Smashing Pumpkins will play 17 concerts in Europe between June and July: Most of these gigs will be festival concerts. Beside The Smashing Pumpkins shows, frontman William Patrick Corgan will do some solo concerts.
The European leg of the tour started last Friday in Norway and will end in mid July at Doctor Music Festival. You can catch them at Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park, Firenze Rocks, Nova Rock, Download UK, Open’er Festival, Eurockéennes, Mad Cool Festival, Nos Alive and Doctor Music Festival.
1. The Setlist
They played three songs from the new album – ‘Solara’, ‘Knights Of Malta’, ‘Alienation’ – and several interesting covers from The Cure, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. The setlist included most of their greatest hits as well, like ‘Zero’, ‘1979’ and ‘Disarm’.
2. The Performance
William Patrick Corgan has been as usual the real protagonist of the night: the frontman showed up dressed in black, a little aged but in great form. They played 27 songs at very high levels in a massive and awesome scenography.
3. New Album
The Smashing Pumpkins released their tenth studio album Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun. in November 2018. This album sees the return of the original members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin and has been produced by Rick Rubin.

The Smashing Pumpkins are an alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois formed in 1988. The band released their debut album Gish in 1991. It received a lot of enthusiastic reviews from the media. The band became famous for their later albums Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. They are still considered as one of the most successful and critically acclaimed bands of the 1990s. In 2018, three out of four original members have been reunited for the first time since 2000. They went on a worldwide tour, with their first place in the US last summer.
