Of Monsters and Men announce their first European festival appearance for 2019. The band is set to play at Iceland Airwaves between 6 and 9 November in Reykjavík.
The Icelandic band already announced that it will be playing at Life is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas. These are the only confirmed gigs for Of Monsters and Men so far. Still, fans are eagerly waiting for more as the band is set to release its newest album, Fever Dream, on July 26.
Of Monsters and Men
The Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men formed in 2010. The band’s debut album, My Head is an Animal, dropped just one year later and made it on the Billboard 200 album chart. It also topped top 20 charts in Europe, North America, and Australia. Of Monsters and Men continued to release a second album, Beneath the Skin, in summer 2015.
Over the last four years, they’ve been on tour, played at various festivals including Coachella, and even had cameo appearances in the incredibly famous Game of Thrones. Earlier this month, on 2 May, they released ‘Alligator’. This is the first single from their upcoming new album Fever Dream, which is scheduled for release on 26 July 2019.
Iceland Airwaves 2019
Iceland Airwaves is a festival that takes places in early November in Reykjavík, Iceland. It first took place in 1999, in an Reykjavík Airport airplane hangar. Presented and expected to be a one-off event, it transformed into an annual event.
Iceland Airwaves focuses on bringing on stage new music from Icelandic and international artists. Its past lineups include performances from Sigur Rós, Yoko Ono, Florence + the Machine, Fatboy Slim, The Kills, sóley, Björk, and many, many others.
