NOS Alive announces a major new name for this year’s edition: Johnny Marr. The Portuguese festival will take place from 11 to 13 July 2019.
It was already confirmed that Robyn, Idles, Cut Copy will perform in Portugal this summer, as well as The Cure, The Smashing Pumpkins, Bon Iver, Thom Yorke, Weezer, Vampire Weekend, The Chemical Brothers, and many more.

Johnny Marr is a British singer, songwriter, and musician. He is perhaps best known for being part of The Smiths, together with Morrissey. He was also part of The Pretenders, The Cribs, and Modest Mouse. Johnny Marr released his first solo album, The Messenger, in 2013, and a second, Playland, in 2013. In more recent years, he worked alongside Hans Zimmer and is generally considered as being one of the best guitarists of all time.
NOS Alive 2019
The twelfth edition of NOS Alive will take place at Passeio Maritimo De Algès in Lisbon from 11 to 13 July 2019. Since 2007, the festival has welcomed the biggest musical acts like Pearl Jam, The White Stripes and Radiohead and has become Portugal’s premier music festival. NOS Alive has now gained a global reputation as one of the very best festivals in the world.
