Slipknot are embarking on a big European festival tour this summer, so it is time to look back at one of their earlier performances. The American band closed Rock am Ring 2015 with a smashing set.
Next summer, Slipknot will headline some of the most important hard rock festivals in Europe, including Rock am Ring, Graspop, Download Festival and more. To warm up for these performances, we are now looking back at their show at Rock am Ring 2015.
Slipknot performed an energetic, adrenaline-fuelled set. It included their first hits, but also newer songs from their latest album .5: The Gray Chapter. They closed with a thrilling encore (for strong hearts only): from their first intro ever ‘742617000027’, passing through a classic ‘(sic)’ and ending with the anthem ‘Surfacing’. BANG!
As usual, Corey Taylor knew how to play the crowd. ‘Spit It Out’ was a real banger performance with the crowd jumping literally everywhere.
Here is the setlist:
- The Heretic Anthem
- The Devil In I
- Wait And Bleed
- Before I Forget
- Spit It Out
The band, who have recently lost their percussionist #3 Chris Fehn, are about to release their sixth album on 9 August, after 5 years of silence.

Slipknot are an American heavy metal band from Iowa, formed in 1995. Their debut self-titled album was released in 1999, while the band immediately gained popularity. Their follow-up album Iowa was a major success in many countries and listed as one of the best albums of the 21 century. After a long hiatus following the death of Paul Gray and departure of Joey Jordison, both founding members of Slipknot, the band released its fifth album .5: The Gray Chapter in 2014. They are known for their brutal image and phenomenally chaotic and energetic live shows.
