Pinkpop announces its lineup. The Cure is the final headliner of the Dutch festival. Lenny Kravitz, Major Lazer and more will also perform between 8 and 10 June 2019.

Once again, the famous Paradiso club in Amsterdam hosted the press conference for the lineup announcement. The legendary Dutch festival will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

This is the whole lineup:

The Cure

The Cure are an English band from Crawley, West Sussex, and one of the most iconic groups still performing. Since the late 70s, they have delivered a unique sound, often qualified as post-punk or new wave. They have sold roughly 27 million records and received several nominations at the Grammy Awards and Brit Awards. They also won an MTV Video Music Award in 1992 for their anthem ‘Friday I’m In Love’. The Cure have released so far thirteen studio albums, ten EPs, and over thirty singles to date. In December 2017, it was announced that the Cure would perform a 40th anniversary concert at Hyde Park on July 2018 as part of the British Summer Time festival. The band will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.

Lenny Kravitz

Lenny Kravitz is an American singer, songwriter, record producer and actor, born in 1964. He released his debut album Let Love Rule in 1989, which immediately received very positive reviews. His distinct voice and music, which combine rock, blues, funk and soul elements, contributed to his success. Between the years 1999 and 2002, he won the Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance four times in a row, breaking the previous record. His new album, RaiseVibration,was released in September 2018. Listen to his latest single ‘Low’ above.

Pinkpop was organised for the first time in 1970, making it one of the oldest annual music festivals in the world. The Dutch festival often boasts impressive lineups. In the past decade, headliners included Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Muse, Paul McCartney, and The Rolling Stones. Pinkpop covers a variety of music genres from indie, rock and metal to pop, hip hop, and dance.
