Glastonbury 2019 announces Janelle Monáe. The British festival will take place on 26-30 June.

The new addition introduces the American singer and actress, Janelle Monáe, to headline the West Holts stage.

Earlier, Kylie Minogue and Stormzy were also announced.

Glastonbury is a five-day festival of contemporary performing arts that takes place in Pilton, Somerset, England. Aside from the performing musical acts, the festival also hosts dance, comedy, theater, circus and other activities. Glastonbury is considered to be the largest greenfield festival in the world with around 135,000 attendees. It was organized for the first time in 1970 and since 1981 the festival takes place every four out of five years. The English festival occupies an important place on every festival and music lover’s bucket list. Previous headliners included The Who, Arcade Fire, and Arctic Monkeys. After a ‘fallow-year’ in 2018, the festival will return this year.

Full-time music lover. After her first music festival in 2004, she was hooked and has been quite an enthusiastic follower and participant ever since. So far, she has attended Sziget (2 times), Rock Werchter, Rock im Park and countless festivals and concerts in her hometown, Istanbul. In real life, to support herself she works in a web agency and spends her annual leaves on music festivals.
