The Kooks are an English indie rock band formed in 2004. The band’s debut album Inside In / Inside Out was released in 2006. However, the release was overshadowed by the release of the Arctic Monkeys’ debut album on the same day. The album managed to reach No. 2 in the UK Albums Chart some weeks later, while it has sold more than 2 million copies since then. The Kooks have released four more albums since, with their latest Let’s Go Sunshine released in August 2018. The band is considered to be one of the most successful British indie rock bands of the last decade, while they were also one of the opening acts for the European tour of The Rolling Stones in 2018.
Deichbrand is an annual music festival that takes place in Cuxhaven. The festival was organized for the first time in 2005 and features a variety of bands from different music genres including metal, rock, pop and hip-hop. In 2018 the festival was headlined by Die Toten Hosen, The Killers and Casper.
