Sziget festival revealed just one headliner so far. According to organizers, new announcements of big names are coming at the end of the month.

On 20th September the Hungarian festival revealed its first headliner. It is Ed Sheeran who confirmed that he will be touring and promoting his latest album Divide until September 2019. Since that day, no more names were announced.

But the wait is over according to Tamás Kádár, the organizer of Sziget. In an interview with a Hungarian magazine, he revealed that new big names are going to be announced at the end of the month. We also know that Reading & Leeds Festival as well as Frequency in Austria (with who Sziget share headliners every year) will have announced new names by the end of the month.

Mr. Kádár added that most of the tickets for 7 August, when Ed will perform, are gone. With all the Szitizen Prime tickets sold out and just a couple of tickets for the first day left, you need to seriously consider getting your 5-day or 7-day pass before they disappear too.

If you want to know who the other headliners may be before you buy your ticket, you should check our rumour overview.

Sziget Festival is one of the largest music festivals in Europe which is held every August in northern Budapest. It started in 1993 as a festival for students and quickly attracted a more international audience. Since then, Sziget has won the European Festival Award of Best Line-up twice, in 2014 and 2017; for it is not the headliners that make the festival but rather its variety of musical genres.
