Festival de Nîmes has confirmed that legendary English singer and pianist Elton John will perform at the festival next summer. Toto will also appear at the Roman amphitheatre on 11 July 2019.
Yesterday, it was also announced that Roger Hodgson, founder of Supertramp will perform at Festival de Nîmes on July 11 as well. Other names that were previously confirmed include the French singer and rapper Soprano on June 27, while more names are expected to be announced soon.
Elton John’s performance at Festival de Nîmes will be part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour. Tickets for his show next summer will go on sale next Wednesday at 10:00 CET.

Elton John is an English singer, pianist and producer born in 1947. He released his debut album Empty Sky in 1969, however he found success with the single ”Your Song” from his second album. This reached the top ten in the UK and the US. Since then, Elton John has released over 20 albums, and he is one of the best selling artists of all time. His seventh studio album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was released in 1973 and it is considered one of the greatest albums of all time, having sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. Elton John has won five Grammy Awards, an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. He is one of the most influential musicians of rock and roll and he is often praised as one of the best pianists and songwriters of this music genre.
In 1994 he was inducted also in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he was made a Knight Bachelor by Elizabeth II for “services to music and charitable services” in 1998. On January 2018, Elton John revealed that he will retire from touring after a three-year farewell tour, which started in September 2018.
Festival de Nîmes 2019
Festival de Nîmes is an annual music festival that takes place in the ancient Roman amphitheatre in the French city Nîmes every summer. The festival was organised for the first time in 1997. Since then, many national and international artists perform each summer in front of more than 10,000 spectators. Bands like Muse, Metallica, Rammstein, Daft Punk, Justice, Depeche Mode and many more have performed at this iconic location over the past few years.
