Eagles announce 2019 European Tour

The Eagles announce a huge world tour for 2019. In May, the American rock band’s first tour stop will be Europe.

It has been almost three years since founding member Glenn Frey died, but it seems that the band found a good replacement. To keep some of Frey’s “family blood” in the band they will be joined by his son Deacon Fray, along with country musician Vince Gill.

Their critically acclaimed tour will kick off on 26 May in Antwerp, Belgium. It includes stops in Cologne, Munich, London and many more. You can see the full list of stops and dates on their website. The group will perform a string of classics from their extensive career, such as ‘Hotel California’, ‘One of These Nights’ and ‘Life in the Fast Lane’.

The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. Founding members are Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner. Frontman Frey died in January 2016. After that Henley stated that he did not think that the band would perform again. However, they were back in 2017, announcing concerts at the Classic East and Classic West. The band reinforced itself with Frey’s son Deacon and country musician Vince Gill. They seem to hit it off as they continued to perform together at the North American tour in 2018. The same lineup will take over the European stages.

The Eagles’ musical style was influenced by the 1960s rhythm and blues, soul and rock bands. Debut album Eagles was released in 1972 and spawned three top 40 singles. In the following years, five more studio albums were recorded before the breakup in 1980. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and released their latest album Long Road Out of Eden in 2007.
