Metallica will announce 2019 European tour in September

Metallica have teased their return to Europe in 2019. According to the band, specific dates and locations for the upcoming tour will be announced in September.

At the moment Metallica are getting ready for the second American leg of their WorldWired Tour, which will go on until March 2019, including a special performance at Austin City Limits. After that, the band is looking to return to Europe next summer.

Although exact dates are not yet known, Metallica have revealed that the new tour would be during the period May-August. Additionally, there are strong rumours about a stadium concert in France next May.

Whether the American band will also perform at festivals in 2019 is still unsure, but at least they will bring their energetic performance back to Europe next summer.

Metallica

Metallica are an American thrash metal band formed in 1981. They are considered to be one of the ‘big four’ of thrash metal, together with Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer. Since the band released debut album Kill ‘Em All, they have sold over 125 million records worldwide. Their third album Master of Puppets came out in 1986 and is considered one of the heaviest and most influential albums of their genre. Following the death of bassist Cliff Burton in 1986, the band achieved huge commercial success with their eponymous black album in 1991.

With very powerful live performances, Metallica are one of the greatest live and most commercially successful bands of all time. The band has won nine Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. In 2016, Metallica released their latest album Hardwired…to Self Destruct.
