Tame Impala’s new album to be released before summer of 2019

It has been three years since the Australian psychedelic rock band, Tame Impala released their last album Currents. Now it has been confirmed that the band is working on their new album which is expected to be released before next summer.

In a new interview with Matt Wilkinson of Beats 1, Kevin Parker, the frontman of Tame Impala, commented that he is currently busy working with the new album. He also mentioned that he would be very disappointed if the new album wasn’t released by June 2019. 

While Tame Impala will also perform alongside King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard in Dezert Daze this October, Parker also expressed his interest to headline a stage at Glastonbury Festival 2019.

Tame Impala are a psychedelic rock band from Perth formed in 2007. The band began as a home-recording for Kevin Parker, who writes, records and produces the music. However for the live performances of the band, a handful of talented musicians are present. Their debut album Innerspeaker was released in 2010 and received very positive reviews from the media. Their later albums Lonerism and Currents also received Grammy Award nominations for Best Alternative Music Albums. The band is known for delivering very energetic performances while they have performed to some of the best music festivals like Pitchfork and Glastonbury.
