Tenacious D announce US tour and tease new album

The American comedy rock duo Tenacious D have announced their first North American tour in five years. The band also teased that they are working on the successor of Rize of The Phoenix, which was released in 2012. Their tour kicks off in Brooklyn in October.

Moreover, Jack Black also revealed during the performance of the band at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta that the sequel to their first film Pick of Destiny is expected to be released also in October. It is not clear yet, if the band plans to tour across Europe next winter.

Earlier, it was confirmed that band will also perform at Cal Jam this October before the start of the North American tour.

Tenacious D

Tenacious D are a comedy rock band from Los Angeles formed in 1994. The band mainly consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Jack Black and lead guitarist and vocalist Kyle Gass. The band released their eponymous debut album in 2001 and received overall positive reviews from the media. Since then, Tenacious D have released two more albums and a motion picture in 2006. The band has also performed to many music festivals around the world including Roskilde, Rock am Ring, Bonnaroo and Download. In 2015 the band also won a Grammy Award for their performance in the song ‘The Last in Line’ , featured in the tribute album Ronnie James Dio – This Is Your Life. According to Jack Black their new album will be called Post-Apocalypto and is expected to be released this year. Fun fact: Dave Grohl is playing drums on every studio album of Tenacious D.
