The Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival in Texas announces the lineup of this year’s 16th edition. The heavy metal legends Metallica, Paul McCartney, Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys, Travis Scott, Odesza and The National are set to headline the event. The ACL Music Festival takes place during two consecutive weekends from 5-7 and 12-14 October.
Other acts that were confirmed include Hozier, Justice, Jungle, St. Vincent, Father John Misty, Khalid and many more. In addition to those artists, David Byrne, Greta Van Fleet and Deftones will also be performing, but only during the first weekend.

Metallica are an American thrash metal band formed in 1981. Metallica are considered to be one of the ‘big four’ of thrash metal, together with Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer. Since the band released debut album Kill ‘Em All, they have sold over 125 million records worldwide. The band has won nine Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. In 2016, Metallica released their latest album Hardwired…to Self Destruct and are currently touring around the world.

Austin City Limits Music Festival is an annual music festival that takes place in Texas. The festival was organized for the first time in 2002. The legendary Austin City Limits (ACL) music series contributed to the success of the first festival. After 2012, the festival takes place for two consecutive weekends in the beginning of October. Over the years, artists of different music genres have performed and over 450,000 people attend the events every year.
